Charles Ford "Sonny" Neal, age 76 of Conway, SC passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Conway Medical Center. He was born May 31, 1942 in Gaston County to the late Ralph Howard and Mable Harmon Neill. Sonny retired from Carolina Freight as a long line driver. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He had a passion for fishing and hunting. Sonny also enjoyed studying his Bible and listening to preaching.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Casey Neal; grandson, Jeremy Neal; and sister, Shelby Ford.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Inman Neal; sons, Charles Neal and wife, Teddi and Eric Neal and wife, Spring, all of Cherryville; daughters, Lena Collins and husband, Ira, Rhonda Tolley and husband, Mike, Teresa Hemrick and husband, John, and Myra Mishoe; brother, Richard "Rick" Neal and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Felicia Neal, Seth Neal, Ryan Neal, Jessi Neal, Erica Neal, Tiffany Crumpton, Matthew Stover (Angie), Helen McCune (Stephen), Lindsey Taber (Seth), Jaclyne Cundiff (Todd), Anna Marie Wooten (Taylor), Aleisha Causey (Brandon), Heather Mishoe, and Terry Mishoe; great grandchildren, Zayden, Cindy, James, Jacob, Kyndal, McKenna, Grayson, Haylee, Cheyenne, Reagan John David, Emma Grace, Haiden, and Brooklyn; and great great grandchildren, Peyton, Bayleigh, Jayce, and Ella.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:30 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
