Charles Thomas "Chuck" Montgomery

Blacksburg -- Charles Thomas "Chuck" Montgomery, 64, of 775 Antioch Road, passed away Wednesday, March 14th, 2018, at Carolinas Healthcare System Cleveland.

A lifelong resident of the Blacksburg/Grover area, he was the husband of Pam Costner Montgomery and the son of the late Jake and Margie Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery worked at Hurst Emergency Products for 30-plus years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Grover. Chuck loved the outdoors. Some of his fondest memories were spending time on the lake with his daddy, Jake, and his son, Andy. Another great pleasure of his was riding around on his John Deere tractor while feeding his beloved Herford Cattle. The joy of his life, however, was his three grandchildren. He loved hearing them say the word, "Papa," and spending as much time as he could with them. With his love of the farm life, it is only fitting that his final bed is made from reclaimed barnwood.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Montgomery is survived by one son, Andy Montgomery and wife, Sharon, of Blacksburg; one daughter, Jill Montgomery Parker and husband, Matt, of Blacksburg; one brother, Chip Montgomery of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Ayden Parker, Anna Parker, and Kinsley Montgomery; his father-in-law, Sammy Costner; and his brother-in-law, Steve Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Margie Montgomery, and his sister, Joanne Turner.
