Chris Harris, 65, of 274 Plantation Drive Gaffney, SC, went home to be with the Lord September 8, 2017, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney. Born in Wisconsin, he is the husband of Patty Wells Harris of the home and a son of Marcella Harris of Gaffney and the late Rev. Howard W. Harris, Sr. He was a computer technician by trade. He served in the US Army.
Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife, Patty, and his mother is his daughter, Olivia Harris of the home; brothers - Perry Harris of Winston-Salem, NC, Howard Wayne Harris of Spartanburg, SC, Jewels Harris of Winston-Salem, NC, Rev. Jesse Harris of Spartanburg, SC, and Rev. Shane Harris of Gaffney, SC; and one sister - Sharon H. Walker of Columbia, SC. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one sister - Hope Harris.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 11, 2017, from 10-11:00 AM at the Church Of The Living God, 211 Old Converse Road, Converse, SC. A Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Shane Harris, Rev. Jesse Harris and Rev. Mark D. Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Cowpens City Cemetery, Cowpens, SC. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
Pallbearers serving are Rev. Jesse Harris, Howard Wayne Harris, Jewels Harris, Christian Wells, Colby Harris and William Echevarria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Olivia Harris Scholarship Fund, 274 Plantation Drive, Gaffney, SC, 29340.
