The Clear the Shelters initiative is a nationwide pet adoption day during which animal shelters from across the country will host events on August 19th in an effort to find loving homes for animals in need. Last year, over 50,000 pets were adopted across the country as part of this initiative.
Who: Cleveland County Animal Shelter
What: Clear the Shelter Pet Adoption Event
When: Saturday, August 19, 2017
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Where: Cleveland County Animal Shelter
1609 Airport Road
Shelby, NC 28150
Why: Offering free cat/kitten adoptions and significantly discounted dog/puppy adoptions (cost of $40) that come with spay/neuter, rabies shot and microchip helps encourage community members to adopt animal shelter pets that are in need of a loving home. This helps make more room for new cats and dogs that are dropped off, thereby helping to prevent overcrowding, which can place animals at an increased risk for poor health.
