Cleveland County Outdoors June 24th edition



 KOSA

The retirees from Kosa fished Lake Hickory last week with very good catches being made. John Black and Roger McNeilly had 14.40 and took first place over Tom Mayhew and Larry Melton, who had 10.80. Third place went to David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow  with 10.0. Big bass of the day was a 4.60 largemouth brought in by the winning team of Black and McNeilly. This week the retirees head to Lake Wylie from 7am til 1 pm. Will this long string of 90 degree days make fishing tough? Check back in next week to see.


MOSS


On Moss Lake last Thursday night, twenty-two boats blasted off for their weekly three and a half hour shootout. Reggie and Johnny Guffey got the win with 10.11. They anchored their catch with a 2.78 largemouth, which was big bass of the evening. Brian and Cody Hoyle took second with 8.75 followed by Mark Debreur and Robbie Philbeck with 4.79. Matt Arey and Les Dulin had 4.59 to claim fourth and fifth with 3.75 was Roger Philbeck and Todd Hewatt.


J & J


The Lake Norman J & J Spring Trail concluded recently with their fishoff. Chad Midkiff took the win with 12.20. Robert Stiltner and Robbie Digh were second with 11.10 followed closely by Michael Smith and Tyler Rowe with 11.00. Fourth place went to Jeff Johnson with 10.50, he also took big fish with a 3.65 largemouth. Rounding out the top five was Darren Sigmonn and Brian Huffman with 10.45.
