Colene Ballard Chapman, age 89 of Sipes St. passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. She was born August 20, 1927 in Gaston County to the late John and Margaret Peters Ballard. Mrs. Chapman was a member of First Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Webb Chapman; daughter, Donna C. Barineau; and siblings, Edward Ballard, Ruth Hardin, Ava Whitworth, Geneva Carpenter, and Margarie Sipe.
Survivors include her nieces, Dianne Clark and husband, Lee, Debbie Beck and husband, Jerry, Gaye Gregory and husband, Art, and Kathy Browne; nephew Larry Sipe and wife, Brenda; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Crouse with Rev. Shane Doty officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.
