Community comes together to raise funds for local woman's medical expenses

The "No One Fights Alone" Benefit for local resident, Stacy Kale will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Shelby, NC from 3 PM - 7 PM. The church is located at 1106 Poplar Springs Church Rd, Shelby, NC.
On October 3, 2016 Mrs. Stacy Godfrey Kale was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer. Stacy has courageously battled through two surgeries and two rounds of chemotherapy. She is currently on an indefinite chemotherapy regimen and has at least one more surgery in her future.
Stacy has been married to Mr. Stacy Kale for seventeen years and they have three boys; Zach, Alex, and Braxton. Stacy is a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She enjoys watching her boys play football and baseball for Crest High School. Stacy is well known in the Shelby community through her roles in advertising sales at The Shelby Shopper & Info and Marketing Director at Carillon Assisted Living. Due to the aggressive chemotherapy, Stacy is currently solely focused on regaining her health and wellness and unable to work. All funds raised will go towards her medical expenses.
"The support so far has been overwhelming," states Brandi Edwards, Benefit Coordinator. "We have had an outpouring of support from businesses, community members, friends, family, high school football teams, churches, etc."
Tickets for the benefit are $8 and include 2 grilled hotdogs, side, dessert and a drink. There will be live entertainment, 50/50 raffle, and t-shirts for sale.
