Cortney Elizabeth Dover, age 24, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center - Main. She was born April 9, 1992 in Gaston County to John Keith and Lisa Michele Swindall Dover of Cherryville. She graduated Cherryville High School in 2010 and went on to receive her associate's degree and was in her senior year at Eastern Carolina University. Cortney loved her family, hanging by the beach, pool, reading books and shopping and always helped anyone in need.
She is preceded in death by grandparents, Barbara Dover and John Swindall.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother Greyson John Dover; paternal grandfather, Todd Dover; maternal grandmother, Rose Navey; aunts, Joanna Greene and Susan Reynolds; cousins, Hannah Presson, Drew Reynolds and numerous other relatives.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Terry Mull, Rev. Debbie Mull and Rev. Allen Culbertson officiating. Burial will be private. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
