Crestview Baptist Community Outreach
Holding up candy canes and gathered around the Christmas tree are members from Crestview Baptist Church who went out Friday, December 5th, to sing Christmas carols and give out candy canes in Boiling Springs.
The group gave out candy canes with the story of it's origin, which were originally created as Christian symbols, representing the blood and purity of Jesus. The "J" represents the name of Jesus. It also represents the staff of "The Good Shepherd" as He reaches down into the ditches of the world to recover the fallen lambs who have gone astray.
After caroling, members of the group went on the street and into stores to pass out over 800 candy canes to students, store owners, clerks and patrons.
Crestview Baptist's slogan is "Praying. Believing. Doing." It does many community outreaches throughout the year regardless of religious affiliation but always based on need.
