Cross Trail Outfitters Celebrate Second Year

The “Buzzards” band (l to r) Tripp Camp, Chris Dedmon, and Matthew Dedmon provided the entertainment for this year’s banquet.
Cross Trail Outfitters is a hunting and fishing club that is all about building relationships with youth, their families, landowners, volunteers and donors. The program is for young men 7 to 20 years of age, and challenges the fellows to get out outdoors in a means to help them grow closer to God and seek Him first in their lives through a common interest in nature.
On Saturday, May 31st, Cross Trail Outfitters hosted their second annual Sportsman’s Banquet at Buffalo Baptist Church. Chip Camp, National Development Director, was very pleased with the overflow turnout. There were auctions, entertainment and special guest speaker, Chris Wells, Chaplain of the Bass Masters. The entertainment was provided by Shelby’s own “The Buzzards” (cause we’re always pickin’) bluegrass band. The live auction featured 14 items which included offshore fishing trips, a Ruger 10/22 rifle, a Browning A Bolt .308 cal rifle, a deer hunt, Robert Steiner framed outdoor art, a Bowtech bow, a Smith and Wesson .40 cal pistol, and 12 assorted wildlife trees among others. The activities took place after a delicious barbecue meal.
The CTO is continuing to grow and as Chip Camp said: “I was more than pleased with the turnout and the acceptance which the program has had since we began. It was a great fundraiser and many came forth to join us through Jesus Christ”. For additional information visit www.team CTO.org or call Chip Camp at 704-473-3833.
