Dan F. Greer, 62, of College Ave., died Saturday, April 11, 2015, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Sarah Weaver Greer of Shelby, and the late Richard Greer. Dan graduated from Gardner-Webb University, and worked for KTC Broadcasting, where he was active in Cleveland County sports radio for many years. He founded the Scholar Athlete Awards for Cleveland County Schools, and was a member of the Shelby Community Lions. Dan was an active and faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church, where he served as a former deacon.

PRECEDED: In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Greer Leigh.

SURVIVED: In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Willis Greer, of the home; step-son, Austin Bishop and wife Susan of Polkville; sister, Patty Barrows and husband Ken of Reseda, CA.; brother, Richard D. Greer of Cary; four step-grandchildren; his dog, Susie; and cats, C.J. and Twig.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Wednesday, 2p.m., at Eastside Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6-8p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at his home.

BURIAL: Sunset Cemetery
