Gaffney -- Danny Steve Shires, 65, of 874 Green River Road, passed away tragically on Monday, August 7th, 2017.

Born in Ellenboro, NC, he was the son of the late Olin Shires and the late Madeline Whitaker Freeman. Mr. Shires retired from Nestle and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Shires are one son, Shane Shires and wife, Kristie, of Mooresboro, NC; one brother, Phil Shires, of Ellenboro, NC; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Caleb Shires; two nieces, Angie and Trisha; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; and a mother-in-law, Mildred Carmack.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shires was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Shires, and a niece, Pam.

A memorial service for Mr. Shires will be held Friday, August 11th, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney Chapel, 211 E. Frederick St. Gaffney, SC 29340. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family will be at the home of Mildred Carmack, 1523 North Logan Street, Gaffney.
