David Harold Henderson, age 79, of Ellenboro, NC, went home to be with his Savior, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born April 21, 1937 in Rutherford County, NC, he was a son of the late Virgil Henderson and Hattie Hall Henderson. He loved hunting, fishing, flea markets and his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Greene Henderson; four brothers, Baby Boy Henderson, Sidney Henderson, Philip Henderson, Hubert Henderson; eleven sisters, Callie Henderson, Millie Sanders, Leater Lee, Ada Henderson, Gene Horton, Alice Holcombe, Ora Dene Hayes, Ruth Underwood, Jessie Keeter, Martha Wilkerson and Mary Henderson.
Survivors include two sons, David Henderson and wife Kathy of Ellenboro and Sam Henderson and wife, Shelly of Bostic; three daughters, Kayren Cole and husband Ernie of Ellenboro, Melinda Medford of Ellenboro and Susan Baynard and husband Shane of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Juanita Hicks and husband Lucian of Oak View, CA, Margaret Scruggs and husband Wayne of Sumter, SC, Gayle Sprouse and husband Ernest of Chesnee, SC; and a sister-in-law, Kay Watts and husband Theron of Ellenboro. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend David Henderson, Reverend Sam Henderson, Reverend Ernie Cole and Reverend Ad Hopper officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery in Chesnee, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
