Mr. David Hugh Smith, Sr., 91, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at his residence. A native of the Reepsville area of Lincoln County, he was born October 23, 1922, son of the late Thomas and Bertha Dellinger Smith. He moved at an early age with his parents to Bladen County where he graduated from high school. He was married to the former Sadie Neil Branch of Lumberton, who precedes him in death. He worked in the construction industry as an electrician for many years. He retired from the Operating Department of Duke Power Company in 1987. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church for 54 years.

SURVIVED: He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Little and husband Jud of Charlotte, Donna Unger and husband Henry of Denver, Colorado; one son, David H, Smith, Jr. and wife Nancy of Kings Mountain; one sister, Sue Perry of Lunberton; eleven grandchildren, Hannah and husband Seth, Darcy, Joe, Michael and wife Emily, Jennifer and husband, Grant, Emily, Christopher, Stephen, Carlyn, Madlyn, and Sam. 

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 1:30 Thursday at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

CLERGY: Rev. Hobby Outten officiating.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery
