SHELBY-David Wayne Hamrick, 40, died Friday, June 17, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Blue Ridge, in Morganton. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son Joyce Conner Hamrick of Shelby, and Roger W. Hamrick and wife Katie of Hibbing Minn. He was a member of Christopher Road Baptist Church and worked at Broughton Hospital as a Nurse. He love his job, and enjoyed working with his coworkers, and tending to his patients. David was a loving son, father, papa, and great friend. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

PRECEDED: He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Archie and Ruby Hamrick, and Rubin and Imogene Conner.

SURVIVED: In addition to his parents, he is survived by his former wife, Shannon Hamrick of Cullowhee; daughters, Haley, Megan, and Kayleigh Hamrick, and Caitlin Joseph, all of Shelby, Tammy Carpenter and husband Chris of Cameron; sons, Brandon Joseph of Cameron, and Bo Joseph of Wilson, NC; sister, Kelli Smith and husband David of Derry NH; brothers, Rod Stephens and wife Shea of Pave Fl, Jeff Sirjord and wife DaNiel, and Jesse Sirjord, all of Hibbing Minn; grandchildren, Savannah Pepin, Aiden Pepin, and Christain Carpenter of Cameron, and Ryland Gullatte of Shelby; and a special friend who David thought of as a brother, Robert Grigg of Shelby.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 3pm, Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, 3-4:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
