Dawn Davis, age 52, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born November 13, 1964 in Rutherford County, she is the daughter of Hattie Elaine Summers of Rutherfordton and the late Jonah "Roger" Tate. She was a graduate of R-S Central High School, class of 1982. Dawn was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked as a Lab Technician for American Water Graphics for thirteen years. She enjoyed reading, camping and taking care of her animals.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Viola Summers and Jarvis and Ruth Tate.
Besides her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her husband of twenty years, Terry Davis; son, Joshua Tate Ammons of Charlotte; daughter, Haley Summers Ammons of Mooresboro; step-mother, Ruby Tate of Mooresboro; two step-daughters, Ashley Morgan Campbell and husband, Chris of Mooresboro and Kala Elizabeth Davis and husband, Shane Owenby of Forest City; step-son, Shane Davis and wife, Jessica of Bostic; brother, Charles Travis Tate and wife, Crystal of Mooresboro; sister, Holly Elaine Campbell and husband, Cory of Spindale. She is also survived by three step-brothers, Keith Moore of Mooresboro, Todd Moore of Virginia, Kevin Moore of Mooresboro and ten grandchildren.
A celebration of Dawn's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her brother's house, 181 Hines Road, Mooresboro. The family will receive friends a half hour before the service. At other times they will be gathered at the Hines Road address.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Community Pet Center, P.O. Box 623, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
