Debra Powell Hoyle, age 57, of Rutherfordton, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born on December 1, 1958 in Wake County, NC, she was a daughter to the late Clarence William Powell and Evelyn Jones Beason. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1977 and also attended Isothermal Community College. Debra worked in textiles for twenty-eight years and was a member of Fork Creek Baptist Church. She was a kindhearted person who spent most of her life taking care of others. Her friends and family will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jermy Cole and two brothers, Jimmy and Ronnie Powell.
Survivors include her husband, Greg Hoyle; son, Blake Cole of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Davie Powell and wife, Sherry of Mooresboro and Timmy Powell and wife, Angie of Cleveland County; two sisters, Ann Gaskins and Sherry Lewis both of Forest City. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Ashley Cole.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Fork Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Cogdell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state thirty minutes before service time at the church.
