Derrell Hutchins, age 48, of Emory Avenue, Forest City, NC, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Derrell was born December 1, 1969 in Rutherford County and was the son of Shirley Melton Hutchins of Forest City and the late Steve Hutchins. He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1988 and worked for Zee Mark/Parker-Hannifin for several years. Derrell was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He attended Cross Link Baptist Church and was known as a kindhearted and generous man.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Julie Morrow; daughter, Adrienne Hollifield and husband, Blake of Manning, SC; sister, Dawn Haynes and husband, Billy of Forest City; grandson, Miles Hollifield; three nieces, Hannah, Riley and Kasey Haynes and father and mother in-law, Jerry and Janice Morrow of Forest City.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kevin Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. At other times the family will be gathered at 466 Dixie Trail Drive, Forest City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 U.S. Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
