Dirtworks, PC Wins Award for Life Enrichment Center...
Dirtworks, PC, was awarded the 2012 Honor Award given by American Society of Landscape Architects New York Chapter (NYASLA) for the Life Enrichment Center. “The NYASLA Chapter awards bolster local visibility, acknowledge and promote the work of our membership and publicly recognize excellence in landscape architecture,” according to Denisha Williams, NYASLA President.
The Life Enrichment Center in Kings Mountain, NC is an example of the application of evidence-based design principles. Dirtworks, PC developed an outdoor setting that complement the Center’s varied programs of care, accommodating users with a wide range of cognitive abilities and complex medical conditions. To recognize both individual and environmental health, the garden supports a number of sustainable components including an integrated pest management program and organic garden. Life Enrichment Center is featured in “GardenStory, ” a ten-part documentary series on public television focusing on the way gardens transform our lives and communities. The landscape architect is David Kamp, who grew up in Shelby.
