Doris Juanita Carrigan

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Doris Juanita Carrigan, 80, of N. Dilling Street passed away Thursday October 16, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland county, she was born April 30, 1934, daughter of the late Rev. Harley Spurgeon and Willie Shuford Scruggs. For many years she worked at Rexall Drug Store.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one grandson, Brad Carrigan.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Buell Carrigan of the home; two sons, Glenn Carrigan and fiancé Teresa and David Carrigan and wife Jo Ann all of Kings Mountain; six sisters, Nadine Bagwell and husband Charles, Gaynell Lail and husband Gene, Creola Lail and husband Sherman, Pat Houser and husband Rev. Ervin, Tinky Scarborough and husband Jim, and Debbie Fortenberry and husband Harry; numerous grand and great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Elaine Parker, Pat Carrigan, and Phil Carrigan, brother-in-law, Jim Carrigan; special friends Scott and Kim Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 3 pm Saturday in the chapel at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at her home.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
