| Dorothy “Dot” Jones Palmer, 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Laddie Chavis and Mary Jane Green Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Palmer; two sisters, Bonnie Lee Jones and Etta Branton; and three brothers, Ivey Jones, Windred Jones and J. D. Jones. Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Eastern Star Camp Call Chapter and attended the Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by a son, Charles Palmer and wife Judy from Polkville; a daughter, Freida Little of East Flat Rock, NC; three sisters, Judy Delozier of Mooresboro, Betty Bowen of Lattimore and Anna Catherine Causby of Lattimore; two brothers, Palmer Jones of Shelby and Lewis Jones of Boiling Springs; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. The Rev. Tony Rayfield will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby.
