Earl Scruggs Center Announces: Musical Explorations programs for children

The Earl Scruggs Center announces three upcoming Musical Explorations programs for children. These three programs, facilitated by music educator Justin Harper, provide children with music development opportunities and introduce them to various musical styles and cultures.
Musical Explorations programs are free for child participants and one accompanying adult. Seating is limited for each session and registration is encouraged. To register a child, visit www.earlscruggscenter.org/events or call the Earl Scruggs Center at 704-487-6233.

Musical Explorations: Drum Circle for Kids - Saturday, September 14, 10:30 a.m
Children are invited to join instructor Justin Harper as he leads a drum circle at the Earl Scruggs Center. Learn about rhythm, creativity, and improvisation during this interactive program. Rhythm instruments will be provided. This program is intended for children ages 6 and up. Maximum capacity of 36 participants.

Musical Explorations: Group Singing - Saturday, October 26, 10:30 a.m.
Children are invited to join instructor Justin Harper as he leads group singing at the Earl Scruggs Center. Explore various styles of singing through games, beat boxing, chanting/toning, and glissandos. Learn to vocalize through melodic patterns and about the basics of reading music. This program is intended for children ages 6 and up. Maximum capacity of 25 participants.

Musical Explorations: Global Instruments and Cultures - Saturday, November 9, 10:30 a.m.
Children are invited to explore a world of music as instructor Justin Harper demonstrates instruments and musical styles from various cultures around the globe. Sing, dance, and move to multicultural music while learning about the cultures where various instruments originated. This program is intended for children ages 6 and up. Maximum capacity of 26 participants.

Earl Scruggs Center hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 am - 4 pm with extended hours on Wednesdays until 6 pm.
