Edgar Pitman Jr., 89, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 12, 2019 at Peak Resources in Cherryville, NC. Born in Greeneville County SC, he was the son of the of the late Edgar Pittman Sr., and Dolly Ethel Wright Pitman. He was also preceded in death by a sister Olivia Mae Pitman Wingate. Edgar had a distinguished career for over 35 years in the United States Navy, where he served at Master Chief. After retiring from the military he worked in the outpatient clinic for the Veterans Administration. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. He was always very active in the community where he was a Mason, member of the Eastern Star and a Shiriner. He enjoyed helping people and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

1 Grandson: Cullen E. Pitman, Kings Mountain, NC

MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, 3:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC with Rev. Jim Brackett officiating.

VISITATION: Family will great friends after the service at the church
