Edna Gladys Cogdell
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Edna Gladys Cogdell, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Testa Family Hospice House of Kings Mountain surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cherokee County to the late Benjamin and Ruthie Moore Black on October 29, 1944. Also predeceased by her husband of 54 years, St John Cogdell; a son, Eddie Cogdell; three sisters, Janie Wilson, MaryAnn Gladden and Bennie "Bo" Moore; three brothers, Theodore Black, Marcelle Black and Paul Black.
She is survived by her three children, Johnny Cogdell (Brenda) of Kings Mountain, Gail Cogdell of Kings Mountain and Scott Cogdell (Angie) of Grover; four sisters, Julie Camp, Louise Lovelace, Carolyn "Pat" Godinex and Brenda Allen; seven grandchildren, J.J., Casey, Paige, Michael and Bubba Cogdell, Hailey Wheaton and Shea Cogdell Bridges (Adam).
She enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren, shopping at yard sales and junk stores, watching television but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all of those who loved and knew her.
A 3:30 p.m. funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Clearview Baptist Church, 316 Hardin Circle, Grover, NC 28073 with the Rev. Barry Miles officiating. Immediate burial at Antioch Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC
Visitation will be held from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm prior to the service.
A very "Special Thanks" to all of the staff at Testa Hospice House of Kings Mountain for your wonderful care to our Mother over her stay.
