Edwin Reid Costner, 65, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at his residence.

Edwin was born in Cleveland County, NC on November 23, 1955 son of the late Guy Reid Costner and Waynell Bingham Costner.

He retired as a pharmacist and was a member of Mary's Grove United Methodist Church in Kings Mountain. Edwin lived his life on the family farm and loved to watch things grow. When he wasn't tending to his garden or farm animals, he enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, birdwatching, or just about any activity in nature. He also loved a good game of ping pong or tennis, and watching the Tarheels play basketball.

Survivors include a son, Clay Costner (Elizabeth) of Charlotte; a daughter, Stacey Costner (Alex) of Kings Mountain; a granddaughter, Meissa Costner; two sisters, Vickie Rudasill and Janet Elliott both of Lawndale. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 4:00PM at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Ramsey and Rev. Dennis Elliott officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service.

Burial will be private.
