Elissa Dean McKee Bright, age 86, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on December 12, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Broadus and Gertie McKee. Elissa was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church where she former Sunday school teacher. She worked in the Hudson Hosiery and retired from Fiber. When Elissa was at Shelby High School she was a member of the softball team, upon graduating she joined the Hudson Hosiery Fast Pitch Softball team. Her love of Sports was extended onto her children. Elissa was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Elissa is preceded in death by two brothers, Roger McKee and Bill McKee; and a sister, Margie Bowman.

Elissa is survived by her husband of 67 years, Glenn Bright Sr; two sons, Don Bright Jr. of Shelby and Mike Bright and wife Jill of Charleston; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dennis McKee; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, October 14, 2018 with Rev. Tony Sisk officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Cleveland Memorial Park.
