Emma Catherine Austin Houser

Emma Catherine Austin Houser, 79, of 7245 Old Shelby Rd. in Vale, passed
away Tuesday February 2, 2016 at home.

Born July 24, 1936 in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late George
Marshall Craig and Nellie Mae Austin. She was retired from Southwood
Furniture Manufacturing and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she
was a choir member and was a communion steward. She was also a Cooksville
Fire Department Auxiliary member.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda
Mooneyham.

Survivors include her husband of sixty two years, Dale Grover Houser; son,
Dennis Houser and wife, Janice of Vale; two daughters, Diane Speagle and
husband, Dean and Annette Lail and friend, Sam Thomas all of Vale; four
grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Donald Austin
of Vale, Everett Austin of Vale, Betty Houser of Vale, Doris Willis of
Hickory, Mary Sue Hicks of Hickory and Bobby Craig of Vale.

The visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday at Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

The funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday at Beulah Baptist Church with
Rev. R.A. Brackett and Rev. Lawrence Jones officiating. The body will be
placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
