SHELBY: Etrulia 'Trudy' Victoria Ponder Weaver, 86, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, December 9, 2017. She was born on June 24, 1931 in Cleveland County to Henry Camillus Ponder, Sr. and Kathleen Wright Ponder. . Her younger years were full raising her family, serving as a caregiver, and working full-time, eventually retiring from Esther Mills. She lived selflessly, demonstrating her love for Christ in her daily life. She was a member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church in Shelby. She established and directed the church's prayer ministry program and was actively involved in other church ministries. She also served as a Foster Grandparent for Shelby City Schools/Cleveland County Schools.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Loy Weaver, a son Ed Wright, and brothers H.C. (Henry) Ponder, Thomas Leon Ponder, and Bobby Ponder.

SURVIVED: She is survived by one son Gary Wright, three grandsons, one great granddaughter, and six nieces and nephews

GRAVESIDE SERVICES: A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 12 at 11:00am at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, with Pastor David Costner officiating. Family will greet friends immediately following the service.
