Eunice Toney, age 81, finished her race and won her eternal prize surrounded by her loving family Monday, February 5, 2018 after her courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born September 23, 1936 the daughter of the late Walter Beaty and Ollie Barrett Beaty. Eunice shared a special one-of-a-kind love with her husband and primary care giver, Ernest.

She spent years working with her brother at Beatty's Fish Camp, and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Therman Beatty, Carl Beaty, and Dwight "Jr." Beaty; as well as three sisters; Hazel Singleton, Elizabeth Thomas, and Arlee Lail.

Eunice is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ernest Toney, her two daughters; Phyllis Stafford and husband Mark of Kings Mountain and Rhonda Alexander and husband Ricky also of Kings Mountain, four grandchildren; Tyler Alexander, Brandon Stafford, Megan Dodrill and husband Matt, and Daniel Shaw, as well as two great-grandchildren Isaiah and Carolina Dodrill, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

The family is incredibly grateful for all of the caregivers and Hospice of Cleveland County for their continued love and care.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Grover with Rev. Andrew Corley and Rev. Gary Marburger officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 pm until 8:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
