Mrs. Evelina Porter Panther, 83,  of 411 Stice Shoal Road, passed away Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, she was born December 23, 1930, daughter of the late C. Neil and Gertrude Champion Porter. She was a member  of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Bobby, and Norman Porter; one sister, Lucille Greene.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her husband of 67 years, H.K. Panther of the home; one daughter, Judy Bolin and husband Thomas of Shelby; two sister-in-laws, Brenda Porter of Kannapolis, and Joan Spencer of Kings Mountain; Gene Porter and wife Joy of North Augusta, SC; three grandchildren, Timothy Scott, Jeffrey Todd, Josh Bolin; eight great grandchildren, James, Jonathan, Kindra, Josh, Jennifer, Minnie, and Jeremiah Bolin; one great great grandchild, Camden Bolin; one special great grandchild, Makayla Bolin who took care of her; and a number of nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: a funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Friday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby Chapel.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
