Newton - Evelyn Garver Carter, 93 of 1210 Shannonbrook Drive, passed away
February 4, 2016 at Abernethy Laurels.

Born March 12, 1922 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Ambrose Andrew Garver and Nishe Bell Jefferies Garver. She was a homemaker.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy
Andrew Carter, Sr.; granddaughter, Sonya Finegan; two brothers and seven
sisters.

Survivors include her son, Roy A. Carter, Jr. and wife, Hilda of Hickory;
daughter, Lonnie Sudduth and husband, Ed of Newton; sister, Pearl Bumgarner
of Shelby; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great
grandchild.

Visitation will be 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Sunday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral
Home & Cremation Center.

A funeral service will be 3:30 PM, Sunday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home &
Cremation Center Chapel with Rev. Mike Harrill officiating.

Burial will follow in Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery
