Mrs. Evelyn Ruth Self Wehunt, 92, of Flay Road, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Wehunt was born in Cleveland County on June 15, 1921 a daughter of the late Clayton Self and Vena Willis Self.  She was a homemaker and member of North Brook Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kemp Winfield Wehunt and two sisters, Lunez Dellinger and Joan Wehunt.

Survivors include two sons, Calvin Wehunt and wife Susan; Jim Wehunt and wife Rhonda; a daughter, Jean Houser and husband Gerald all of Cherryville; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Reep and husband Robbie, Jon Wehunt and wife Cristy, Chris Houser, Curtis Houser, Lindsay Fier and husband Adam, Amy Dyson and husband Brent and Travis Wehunt and wife Ann; also surviving are ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 12:30 until 1:45PM at North Brook Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, February 17, 2014 at North Brook Baptist Church with the Revs. Bob Wise and Norris Willis officiating.

Burial will be in the Wehunt Family Cemetery at North Brook Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to North Brook Baptist Church, 7421 Flay Road, Cherryville, NC 28021 or to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar St. Lincolnton, NC 28092.
