Flossie Mae Carpenter Dellinger
 
Flossie Mae Carpenter Dellinger, age 99 of Montgomery, AL, formerly of Cherryville, died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at her residence.  She was born on May 12, 1915 in Gaston County to the late Albert Franklin and Violet Robeta Dellinger Carpenter.  She was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and then moved her membership to Norwood Baptist Church in Birmingham.  She served at her church as a previous day care assistant.  Ms. Dellinger loved flowers, cooking, and decorating for Christmas.
 
 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 11 siblings; and a great granddaughter, Maria Madaline Valldejuli.
 
 
 
Survivors include her sons, Darrell Glenn Carpenter (Jane Ann) of Cherryville, and Robert Ray Dellinger, Jr. of Montgomery; daughter, Edith Robeta Bell (Michael C. Perham) of Cherryville; grandchildren, Karen Laine Newton of Cherryville, Gary Wayne Carpenter (Cathy) of Belmont, Teresa Ann Armstrong of Charlotte, Ronald Wayne Armstrong (Nicole) of Japan, and Darrell Scott Dellinger of Montgomery; great grandchildren, Amanda Jane Newton, Lee Ivo Newton, Brandon Scott Carpenter, Brittany Thomas, Cassandra Lea Hougue, Jasmine Hougue, Ronald Wayne Armstrong Jr., and Chloe Armstrong; great great grandchildren, Sophia Jane Newton and Waya Lee Ivo Matthews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
 
 
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 at Carpenter’s Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Wayne Key officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
