Frances Curtis Loftin

Frances Curtis Loftin age 82, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on June 15, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Fred Evans and Della Jane Grigg Curtis. She had previously attended First Baptist Church. During her life Frances worked in numerous professions. Some of these were Shelby Dry Cleaners, Cleveland Times, Shelby Star, and Duke Power. Frances was known for her love of nature. She enjoyed fishing, animals, and birds. She was an avid shopper and loved going to Belks and appreciated how she was treated by the staff. Her smile and loving personality were examples of her compassion for others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Faye Dixon and two husbands, Dick Estes and Lonnie Loftin.

Frances is survived by two brothers, Dr. Steve Curtis and wife Brenda, and Alan Curtis all of Shelby; brother-in-law, Royce Dixon and wife Dottie of Shelby; a niece, Gloria Sherman and husband Steve of Shelby; nephews, David Dixon and wife Kim, Danny Dixon and wife Melanie, Robert Curtis and wife Pam, and Jim Curtis and wife Brandy all of Shelby; and numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins along with a multitude of friends whom she loved dearly.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the service.
