Frances Louise McSwain Cook, 78, of Midway Ave, Shelby, passed away on
Friday, November 20, 2015 at Carolinas HealthCare System - Cleveland in
Shelby.

Born December 31, 1936 in Cleveland County, to the late Alvin Carl McSwain
and Girtha Sellers McSwain. She was retired from Specialty Lighting and was
a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Javan
Cook and a brother, Max McSwain.

Survivors include a son, Edward Cook of Shelby; a daughter, Carla Cook Kirby
of Shelby; two grandchildren, Olivia Gebel-Cook and Benjamin Kirby; a
sister, Barbara Bell of Shelby; and a niece, Anita Baker of Shelby.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger
Funeral Home & Cremation Center

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church
with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating. The body will be placed in the church
thirty minutes before the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
