Gene Morgan, age 82, of Forest City, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Gene was born August 22, 1936 in Ware County, Georgia to the late Robert H. Morgan and Josephine Fitchett Morgan. He worked thirty-two years as a crane operator for Duke Power and was of the Baptist faith. Gene enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Keith Morgan and by two brothers, Hilton Morgan and Odell Corbett and a sister, Dorothy Beverly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty years, Frances Morgan; two daughters, Pam Toney and husband, Coleman and Wanda Clark and husband, Tim all of Forest City; brother, J.F. Morgan and wife, Anna of St. Cloud, Florida; three sisters, Marguerite Boggess and husband, Bob of Crystal River, Florida, Willa Jean Blankenship of Forest City and Reba McGinnis also of Forest City. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kevin Morgan, Brandon Toney (Jennifer), Natalie Toney, Steven Mode (Taylor), Hayden Clark and six great-grandchildren, Ashton Morgan, Kinsley Morgan, Owen Morgan, Kaylee Mode, Hailey Toney and Nate Mode.
A gathering of family and friends will be conducted from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Harrelson Funeral Home with a eulogy being provided by Reverend David Bradley.
