George Lamar Fletcher, age 70 resident of Kings Mountain, NC gained his angel wings on November 2, 2016 at the Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mountain, NC. He was born in Cleveland Co. NC to the late James and Mary Kimble Fletcher. He was also preceded in death by sons, Gregory Kenneth Fletcher and James Lamar "Fletch" Fletcher; one brother and one sister. Lamar was a former supervisor in the textile industry. He was a member of Penley's Chapel Church, Kings Mtn. NC where he served as an Elder. He was a former candidate for the Kings Mountain City Council and served on the Planning and Zoning Board. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many who enjoyed fishing and was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan.

9 Grandchildren: Jada Viars and husband Douglas, Tiffany Fletcher, Ashley Johnson and husband John, Tyler Fletcher, Nick Ramey and wife Ashley, Wesley Fletcher and wife Kelsey, Alisha Fletcher, Alyssa Fletcher, and Dovie Postell.

5 Great Grandchildren: Owen Stroupe, Elizabeth Postell, Layla Fletcher, Evelyn Johnson, and Zadie Fletcher.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Penley's Chapel Church, 1508 N. Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC Saturday November 5, 2016 2:00 P.M.
