Gilda Eugenia Fogleman King

Gilda Eugenia Fogleman King, 83, of Vale, passed away Thursday, September
17, 2015 after a brief illness and declining health.

Born in Rougemont, North Carolina on May 24, 1932, she was the daughter of
the late Arthur and Pattie Knott Fogleman. Gilda worked in the medical
associated field, retiring from Broughton Hospital in 1994 after 26 years of
service in the business office and as ward admitting clerk.

She is also predeceased by a brother, Chester Fogleman and wife, Doris.

She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Clyde Ellis
King; four cherished children, Marilynn Taylor and husband, Martin of
Lewisburg, West Virginia; son, Virgil King of the home; Deidra King Gantt of
Vale and Dwayne King of Shelby; grandchildren, Marlee Taylor, Makenzie
Taylor, Matthew Taylor and Ashley Jeune and husband, Michael;
great-grandsons, Alex and Bentley Jeune. Gilda is also survived by numerous
nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and a host of friends
and her church family at Hulls Grove Baptist Church in Vale.

Gilda anchored her life around her family and friends and will be remembered
for her loving and giving nature, a love of travel and especially a love of
flowers and flower arrangements. She leaves us with beautiful memories of a
golden heart and a love to guide, as she will always be by the side of her
loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM, Saturday, Hull's
Grove Baptist Church, Vale.

The funeral service will be 2:30 PM, Saturday, at Hull's Grove Baptist
Church, Vale with the Rev. Travis Elmore, Rev. Phil King and Mr. Bobby
Farmer officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Catawba Regional Hospice
in Newton and especially to social worker and loving niece, Janie Webb Mast.
