Glen Shelton, 85, of Forest City, died Monday, July 23, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. A native of Madison County, NC, he was the son of the late Zella Shelton Haynie. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a US Army veteran. Glen loved Nascar, reading western novels, and the Atlanta Braves.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Garland Shelton and wife Jessica of Forest City; daughter, Joyce Padgett and husband Eddie of Shelby; grandchild Brandon Padgett of Harris; brothers, Clay Haynie of Chuckey, TN and Dickey Haynie of Port Charlotte, FL. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Burnette Shelton; granddaughter, Jessica Padgett and brother Don Haynie.

Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Harris Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
