Guided public hike at Wildacres Retreat Center

MORGANTON, NC - On Saturday, July 9, 2016 Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina, Conservation Trust for North Carolina, and Wildacres Retreat Center co-host a public hike on the beautiful Wildacres Retreat Center trail network. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the moderate hike will be led by Foothills Conservancy Land Protection Director Tom Kenney and naturalist Kevin Caldwell.
Following the hike, the land trusts will host a picnic lunch and presentation about the retreat center and its lands.
The hike is free and open to the public, however space is limited. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Thursday, July 7, 2016 to Foothills Conservancy by calling 828-437-9930 or emailing info@foothillsconservancy.org.
Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina, a nationally accredited regional land trust based in Morganton, works cooperatively with landowners and public and private conservation partners to preserve and protect significant natural areas and open spaces, including watersheds, forests and farmland, across the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains and their foothills in eight counties: Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, McDowell, and Rutherford.
