Harrell Ray Childress
Harrell Ray Childress, age 59, of Ferry Road, Forest City, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
 
     Born on January 30, 1955 in Jefferson County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Herbert Lee Childress and Flossie Mae Taylor Childress.  He worked for J.C. Cowan, Watts Regulator, and PPG Industries for many years and was a Baptist.  Harrell also worked as a welder in construction.  He enjoyed bee keeping, fishing, hunting, making homemade wine and was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan.
 
      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Ann Childress and father-in-law, Homer Dean Ingle.
 
     Survivors include his wife, Sonda Childress; daughter, Taylor and nephews, Daymon Duncan and John Michael Duncan all of the home; son, Jason Childress and wife, Kari of Bristow, Oklahoma; daughter, Amy Warden and husband, Timmy of Oklahoma City, OK; three sisters, Jeanne Clark and husband, Wally, Sharon Craine and Kim Childress all of Louisville, Kentucky; three brothers, Gary Childress and wife, Carolyn of Paris, Kentucky, his twin brother, Darrell Childress and wife, Drewcilla of Glasgow, Kentucky and Michael Childress of Louisville; mother in-law, Marie Ingle of Forest City.  He also survived by four grandchildren, Kolton and Kaitlynn Childress both of Bristow and Conner and Caydence Cooper both of Oklahoma City.
 
     Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Butler, Pastor B.J. Childress, Pastor Chris Childress and Mr. Wally Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
