Howard Lee Warren


SHELBY- Howard Lee Warren, 90, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at White Oak Manor in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late North and Gaddie Fitch Warren. He served in the Navy, retired from Ellis Lumber Company, and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Truman Warren and wife Patricia, Dean Warren and wife Jeannette; son-in-law, Tom McAlister; grandsons, David Warren and Howard Dean Warren Jr.; brothers, J.L. Warren, Fate Alvin Warren, William Warren, Billy Bob Warren and James Warren; sisters, Inez Philbeck, Muriel Panther and Connie Raye Hyde.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Helen Humphries Warren, of the home; daughters, Connie McAlister and Ann Martin, both of Shelby, and Patricia Jones of Tenn.; step-daughter, Denise McCoy of Boiling Springs; brother, Nelson Fay Warren of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses of Hospice of Cleveland County and White Oak Manor for all their love and care.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

OFFICIATING: Dr. Robert Rose will officiate

BURIAL: Entombment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park Mausoleum with Navy honors
