J. R. Peeler, Sr., 74, 703 South Charleston Street, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord, May 8, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. He was the husband of Ila Broome Peeler and a son of the late Livie and Lillian Mullinax Peeler. He was retired from Eaton Corp. and was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church. He was a Past Master of Buffalo Masonic Lodge #202, Blacksburg, SC, and was an Associate Patron of Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter #12.
In addition to his loving wife, Ila, he is survived by three sons - William Royce Peeler and wife, Kim, of Kings Mountain, NC, J. R. "Butch" Peeler, Jr. and wife, Paulette, of Grover, NC, and James Anthony "Tony" Peeler and wife, Patsy, of Blacksburg, SC; grandchildren - Mark Peeler and fiancee', Miranda McDonald, Dusty Peeler, Jim Peeler, Kelly Peeler Patrick and husband, Chris, Emily Peeler, Haley Peeler and Mitchell Peeler; and 3 great-grandchildren - Lydia Royce Patrick, David Allen Peeler and Amberlin McDonald. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother and sister - Royce Peeler and Novella Peeler Elliott.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 - 7:30 PM at White Columns. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Monday, May 11, 2015, 11:00 AM, at Nazareth Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Billings officiating. Entombment with Masonic Rites will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. At other times, they will be at the home.
Members of Buffalo Masonic Lodge #202 will serve as pallbearers.
