James Cecil Bailey
James Cecil Bailey, 82, a resident of White Oak Manor, Rutherfordton, formerly of NC Highway 120, Mooresboro, died on Thursday, August 07, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on April 17, 1932, a son of the late Bessie Bailey. He was retired from Cone Mills Corporation - Cliffside Plant. He was also a member of High Shoals Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He loved to golf, work in his garden and loved animals.
 
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his stepson, Steve Tate; one sister, Jessie Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Mahaffee Tate Bailey; one stepson, Phil Tate and wife Gay of Forest City; one step-daughter-in-law, Jennifer Tate of Topsail Island, NC; his nieces, Wanda Dobbins and husband James, Paulette Hutchins; his great nephew and niece, Robert Dobbins and Laura Toney; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; his two favorite companions, Buster and Zack.
 
A Celebration of Mr. Bailey’s Life will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, August 09, 2014 at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in the High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:30pm-4:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
