James "Jim" William Homesley

James "Jim" William Homesley, age 77, of Long Creek Church Road, died April 29, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 14, 1937 in Gaston County to the late Broughton and Ruth Lineberger Homesley. Jim worked for M A Ryans & Son Sealtest District, Carolina Dairy & Pet Dairy. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church, was a mason and NRA member. He cherished the time he spent with his son at Rock Haven Farms and was an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Homesley.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Judy Parton Homesley; a son, Rocky Homesley (Vickie) of

Cherryville; two daughters, Kim Glenn (Jeff) of Ansonville, NC, and Crystal Rouse (Kit) of Gastonia; grandchildren, Kristin Faulkner (Jason) of Lilesville, Carey Marsh (Dustin) of Ansonville, Meredith Glenn of Ansonville, Thresia Ballard (Larry) of Thurmond, NC, Toni Parkes (Omar) of Charlotte, Whitney Snyder (JP) of Gastonia, Abby Rouse of APP State Boone; great grandchildren, Olivia and Westin Marsh, Daniel, David, and Dillon Ballard, Tori, Nate, and Anthony Parks, Harrison Gray Snyder, and James Faulkner (September 2015); brothers, Lewis Homesley of Kings Mountain, Sonny Homesley (Jean) of Bessemer City, Steve Homesley (Cindy) of Bessemer City, Larry Homesley (Vickie) of Kings Mountain; sisters, Marie O'Donnell of Cherryville, Helen Lamoureux (Gerry) of Cherryville, Joann Minton (Ernie) of Charlotte, and Shirley Wright of Cherryville.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 2:00 to 3:45 at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday immediately following the visitation at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Glenn and Dr. Gene Ware officiating. Burial will be at Rock Haven Farms.
