SHELBY- James Michael "Jimmy" Hamrick, 76, passed away Sunday September 18 at his residence. A native of Cleveland county, he was the son of the late Chalmer Jim and Willie Bill Self Hamrick. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Shelby where he was ordained as a Deacon in May of this year. Everyone loved Jimmy and he loved everyone. He played the guitar for the choir at church. He always had a smile on his face and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He cherished his sons more than anything and talked about going to be with their mom often.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Hamrick.

SURVIVED: He is survived by four sons, Chris Scott Hamrick, Richard Mark Hamrick and wife Laura, James Dean Hamrick and wife Sheila all of Shelby, Tony Eric Hamrick and wife Angel of Belwood; one sister, Sheila Burns and husband Claude of Union, SC; one brother, Bruce Hamrick of Shelby; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with a visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
