James Odell Nance
Mr. James Odell Nance, 63, of 1818 Melrose Drive, Shelby, NC departed this life to live with his heavenly Father on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his home.  He was born on November 22, 1949 in Cleveland County to the late George Nance Sr. and Hattie Glenn Nance.

 James was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. He was employed by Doran Textiles for fifteen years.  He enjoyed fishing, fish frys, cookouts and being with his family.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George “Samp” Nance, Jr and Clarance “Chivis” Nance; four sisters, Docia Nance, Lucille Nance Adams, Ethel “CheChee” Nance Woods and Thelma Jean “Polly” Nance Kelley.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his significant other of 38 years, Pattie Colquiett whom he loved dearly; one daughter, Pamela Nance of Shelby; two step-sons, AndréMoon of the home and James Shawn Colquiett of Huntsville, Al; five sisters, Betty Card, Jennie Nance, Laura Mathis (Richard), Mary Nance and Christine Nance all of Shelby; five grandchildren, Skylar and Destani Brown, Tareney Moon all of Shelby, André Moon II of the home and Shaun Whisnant of Shelby; a special great-grandson, Jayden Lee of Spartanburg, SC; Makenzie Murray of great-granddaughter; two special friends, Willard “Will G” Gentry of Shelby and John Jordan of Ellicott City, MD and a host of family and friends.

 Funeral services will be held on Friday September 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Isaac officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at the church on Friday. Funeral processional will leave from Enloe Mortuary on Friday.
