Forest City- James Robert "Bob" Lane of Forest City died Saturday August 4, 2018 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was the son of the late Harl Hull Lane and Leavie Eula Shields Lane.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his son Robert Shannon Lane, brother Alvin Lane and sisters Rachel Lancaster, Mildred Moore and Kathleen Sane and a loyal dog named "Peanut".

Left to cherish his memories are three daughters and their spouses Melanie Roberts and husband Bud and Darlene Adkins and husband Mike, Kimberly Hamond and husband John, three grandchildren Misty Oliver, Johna Adkins and Amber Adkins and eight great-grandchildren.

Service will be held at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside Tuesday, August 7, 2018 1:00 PM with a visitation one hour prior to the service with Pastor Bob Buhl officiating the service.

His final resting place will be at Eternal Hills Cemetery of Forest City, NC formally called Sunset Memorial.
