James Vernon Newton, Jr., 56 of 214 Webb Road, Shelby passed away, Thursday,
July 26, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast.

Born May 6, 1962 in Cleveland County, he was a son of James Vernon Newton,
Sr. and wife, Anita and the late Connie Gail Sain Grigg.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 9 years, Patricia
Owensby Newton; step-son, Tyler Dills of Rutherfordton; a brother, Timothy
Newton of Shelby and a sister, Susan Newton of Kings Mountain.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral
Home.

A graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday at Rose Hill Memorial Park,
Fallston.
