Blacksburg -- Joel Kenneth "Snoopy" Fitzgerald, 49, of 122 Pine Grove Road, passed away Sunday, August 23rd, 2015, at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Tina Hadden Fitzgerald and the son of the late Wilburn "Bill" and Sandra Grigg Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald worked for Kapstone and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Fitzgerald is survived by a daughter, Anna Elizabeth Fitzgerald, of Blacksburg; a son, Christopher Blake Fitzgerald, of Blacksburg; his grandmother, Alda Grigg, of Blacksburg; three brothers, Kelly Fitzgerald of Gaffney, Keith Fitzgerald of Blacksburg, and John Fitzgerald of Blacksburg; and one grandson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM in the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Willoughby, Rev. Dale Welch, and Ms. Anna Fitzgerald officiating. Bobby O'Neal, Thomas Parker, Charlie Black, Ronnie Scruggs, Wayne Casey, Troy Williams, Ronald Bomar, and Tracy Mullinax will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Spivey, Tyson Bridges, Justin Ray, Bobby Bolick, Jody Pridmore, Rob Jenkins, Kevin McDaniel, and Aaron Price.

The family will be at the residence.
